ACADEMIC STANDARDS
All educational projects launched by the World Studies Institute adhere to the academic standards established by state and national governments.
In the United States of America, the No Child Left Behind Act enforced state to state Grade-Level Expectations. Each state promulgates its own academic expectations and standards.
Below, you will only locate the standards required by the states whose schools are participating in our projects.
Louisiana Residents
The standards or Grade-Level Expectations (GLEs) set forth by the Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE) can be referenced here.
Rhode Island Residents
GLEs for the state of Rhode Island may be accessed here.
Information on additional state-level expectations may be obtained on the Academic Benchmarks web portal.
Our Canadian partners are equally bound by standards set forth by the Canadian Ministry of Education. Similar to the United States, each province in Canada publishes and enacts its own standards and expectations.
The standards for our partners in Canada may be retrieved below.
What is different in Canada, though, is that each province has the right to have a Francophone School Board and an Anglophone School Board, each with different curricula but with the same provincial standards and expectations.
